Hobie's mother, Gayle, arrives to tell Mitch she's remarrying and wants custody of Hobie. Hobie, Gayle, and Ken (her fiance) fly to Acapulco for the wedding on Ken's plane. The pilot loses both engines in the air, and the plane crashes into the sea. All get trapped inside the plane as it sinks. Meanwhile, Matt's family moves back to France, and his father expects him to go, too. Also, Jackie and Summer open a business. A dramatic plane crash finds Hobie, Gayle (his mother), Ken (her fiance), and the pilot trapped in the rapidly flooding fuselage beneath the sea. At the same time, Mitch and the Baywatch lifeguards mount a massive rescue effort to save the trapped passengers and crew. Meanwhile, Matt's father takes back Matt's motorcycle, and Jackie has problems with the building renovation for her new business, Summer Place.
