The pilot, then don’t skip to paintball immediately if you want the study group to matter. The genre hours hit harder when you know the table.

Why this series still plays
Watch it because the group chat is already speaking Greendale. A network sitcom that went full genre playground without dumping the friendship — paintball, timelines, bottle episodes, Harmon drama included. Start with the study group, argue about season four, and treat “six seasons and a movie” as fandom scripture until the movie exists.
So about last night’s rewatch thread: someone posted the paintball still, someone else typed “we don’t talk about season four,” and a third person — still on the pilot — got spoiled by a GIFs-only “joke.” Welcome to Community, the NBC (then Yahoo) sitcom that trained a generation to argue in episode codes. Dan Harmon built a study group at a community college and then let the show become film school, friendship lab, and a group chat with better blocking. (I said spoiler-free. I lied a little about the paintball.)
