Why this series still plays
A hitman enrolls in acting class and Bill Hader makes the joke get colder every season. Henry Winkler's Gene is pathetic mentorship as tragedy; NoHo Hank is the golden retriever of organized crime. Dark comedy that earns its dread, then refuses to let the bit stay cute.
