Why this series still plays
Miami blood-spatter analyst by day, vigilante with a code by night: Michael C. Hall made Showtime's serial-killer POV a global export. Early seasons balance case-of-week and dread; later endings and revivals reopened every argument. Premium-cable antihero comfort food with a body count.
October 1, 2006, Showtime puts a blood-spatter analyst on the night like a network once put a cop on Monday: appointment pulp with better lighting and worse manners. Erik King made Sgt. James Doakes the only man who smelled the code on Dexter — Miami blood-spatter by day, Showtime's vigilante POV, and a sergeant who treated Michael C. Hall's smile like a crime scene. TV Flash files him as 2000s…
- Lauren Velez as Maria LaGuerta
