Why this series still plays
Studio One is Westinghouse's live stage: 467 episodes, and the 1954 Twelve Angry Men that argued on television before the film. Watch it in 2026 as premier CBS dramatic anthology — a pressure-cooker studio that launched scripts and stars, then became the nostalgia of a braver prime time.
The group chat in 1954 was a jury room. Westinghouse *Studio One* turned CBS into a prestige factory: live hour dramas, literary adaptations, original teleplays, November 7, 1948 to September 29, 1958, **467 episodes across ten seasons** — including the 1954 television *Twelve Angry Men* that preceded the famous film. Reginald Rose's jury-room original is the ultimate flex of live-drama legacy. (Spoiler-free mostly: the film is the spoiler everyone already has. The TV night was first.)
