Why this series still plays
Let's Make a Deal turns the studio audience into the game: costumes, trades, and Monty Hall offering Door Number Three while a zonk waits in the wings. Stefan Hatos and Hall built carnival psychology into daytime television. Audience-as-contestant chaos starts here, which is why economists still use the Monty Hall problem as a parable about switching.
Picture a daytime studio where the audience is the board. Costumes, trades, Monty Hall offering Door Number Three while a zonk waits in the wings. Let's Make a Deal premiered in 1963 on NBC, later ABC, Stefan Hatos and Hall building carnival psychology into television beginning when three networks still owned the afternoon. Jay Stewart announced. Contestants in wild outfits traded prizes for mystery boxes and numbered doors. Risk is the comedy. **Audience-as-contestant chaos starts here.**
