Broadcast listing — not a TV Flash recap.
In an unusual framing sequence, a 1980s couple bids on a antique folding table, and notice the "CI" brand as its maker. The episode flashes back to Charles handcrafting the table for sale in Mr. Johanssen's shop. Mr. Johanssen commissions Charles to craft more of the tables to meet demand in Minneapolis. Soon, Charles is running a small round-the-clock factory to fashion the tables, leaving his family back in Walnut Grove for weeks on end. An unscrupulous furniture factory owner steals the design for the table and begins to mass-produce the item at a much lower cost.

Michael Landon's Charles Ingalls dispenses pioneer virtue while Melissa Gilbert's Laura becomes the eyes of Walnut Grove. Walnut Grove, 1974: NBC wants a western that will not die of gunfighter myth, and Michael Landon bottles pioneer virtue until the living room weeps on schedule. Little House on the Prairie (1974–1983) drew from Laura Ingalls Wilder's books and ran nine seasons, some two hundred hours, with Landon producing, starring, and directing enough of the hour to make sincerity a brand. Melissa Gilbert's Laura is the eyes of a generation; Karen Grassle's Caroline and Melissa Sue Anderson's Mary complete the homestead.…
