Jameela Jamil

Jameela Jamil plays Tahani Al-Jamil on The Good Place (NBC, 2016–2020), the 2010s NBC sitcom that turns ethics thought experiments into popcorn. Selfish Eleanor wakes in a heavenly planned community that is not what it seems; Tahani is the name-drop as a wound — status as a moral problem, a seating chart with a soul.

Jamil sells snobbery as character, then lets it crack. Bell, Danson, Chidi’s indecision, Janet’s everything: she holds her corner.

Tahani Al-Jamil only works if the series around it is a place. The Good Place (NBC, 2016–2020) is that place. Jameela Jamil’s Tahani Al-Jamil name-dropped The Good Place into ethics popcorn — heavenly planned community, Michael Schur thought experiments, four seasons that actually stuck the landing. Name-brand afterlife with a soul under the seating chart.

A one-night map opens on s01e01 (Everything Is Fine is the sitcom lie: selfish Eleanor in a planned community, Schur turning ethics into NBC popcorn). If you want the hour that still shows the bruise, hold s04e13: Whenever You're Ready is the four-season landing people still cite — broadcast comedy that actually stuck the ethics exam. A third pin is s02e01: Everything Is Great! Part 1 rhymes the reset: the neighborhood was never the point, the experiment was.

Four seasons, a landing that stuck. On TV Flash she is afterlife comedy with posture. We file Jamil as 2010s ensemble heat: the socialite who made a philosophy hour photograph as a party, still the reason the Good Place has gossip in it.
