Kaitlyn Dever

Kaitlyn Dever plays Betsy Mallum on Dopesick, the face of a county inside Michael Keaton’s fury as a doctor watching OxyContin eat a place, cut against Purdue boardrooms that sold a lie with a smile. Hulu’s opioid-crisis prestige connected policy to people without turning Appalachia into scenery. Pharma-accountability television that still feels like a person. Dever is the patient the hour will not flatten, a life the smile has to answer for.

Dever as Betsy Mallum keeps Dopesick from flattening; s01e01 is the door, s01e02 the later proof. First Bottle as the Hulu contract: Michael Keaton's doctor watching a county get eaten, Purdue already smiling in the cut, Appalachia not scenery. Breakthrough Pain as the titled marketing: the hour where the slogan becomes the wound, still Keaton's fury, still policy cut against a county.

Policy is the board; Betsy is the bruise. On TV Flash Dever is 2020s prestige craft: a performance that treats the crisis as a body, the Mallum who made Dopesick photograph as a county, not a hearing.

Betsy Mallum does not intern as trivia. Dever as Betsy Mallum keeps Dopesick staffed, filed as 2020s pharma-accountability craft, a patient the hour will not flatten. Dever at s01e08: The People vs. Purdue Pharma as the eight-episode close: pharma-accountability television with a finished shape, still people against a lie sold with a smile. Come for the stance.

A second look at s01e02 is allowed. Breakthrough Pain as the titled marketing: the hour where the slogan becomes the wound, still Keaton's fury, still policy cut against a county. Dever does not clock out.
