Kristen Johnston

Kristen Johnston plays Sally Solomon on 3rd Rock from the Sun, the officer stuffed into a woman's Earth body while a high commander poses as an Ohio dad. Bonnie and Terry Turner's farce: emotions, bureaucracy, Jane Curtin as the human problem. Lithgow goes operatic; Johnston matches him without blinking. Sally is gender as a field assignment.

High-concept sitcom dies if the supporting work is just a costume. On TV Flash she is 1990s catalog voltage. We file Sally with the hours that treated an alien unit as a family and a woman in the chain of command as the joke's brain and fist.

Ground Kristen in the 1996–2001 NBC run of 3rd Rock from the Sun. Sally Solomon does the work. Sally matches Lithgow without blinking: gender as a field assignment, brain and fist of the joke. Begin with s01e01. Brains and Eggs: high commander posing as family, Bonnie and Terry Turner's high-concept already wrecked by feelings.

The later hour is s03e01. Fun with Dick and Janet: Jane Curtin as Earth gravity, Johnston-to-Gordon-Levitt matching Lithgow's full opera. s04e01 is the desk's start for Sally Solomon. Dr. Solomon's Traveling Alien Show: farce as touring act, the unit still studying bureaucracy like a planet. That is the map. Kristen does not ask 3rd Rock from the Sun to glitter. Kristen Johnston keeps 3rd Rock from the Sun specific so the NBC run still has a pulse. NBC (1996–2001) remains the assignment; Kristen Johnston is the human checkpoint. Start for the contract, stay for Sally Solomon underneath it.
