Zooey Deschanel

Zooey Deschanel plays Jessica Day on New Girl, the 2010s loft hangout comedy at its stickiest: Jess, Nick’s bartender mutter, Schmidt’s peacocking, Winston’s absurdist side quests. Deschanel is why the loft photographs as a person: voice, bangs-as-weather, a lead who treats cute like a strategy and a wound.
