Lake light, dead eyes, a blue wash you can feel on the skin. Financial planner Marty Byrde relocates his family to the Missouri Ozarks to launder cartel cash. Bill Dubuque and Mark Williams built a Netflix grim-crime tentpole (July 21, 2017) around Jason Bateman's calm panic and Laura Linney's steel. Bateman also directed multiple episodes. Julia Garner steals seasons as Ruth Langmore and won multiple Emmys doing it. Sofia Hublitz in the family orbit. Money is the plot; family is the collateral. **This was not a vacation postcard. The last season is the airport departure: the title spoiling the exit, the lake still the wash. Four seasons, forty-four episodes, finished on purpose — Garner's Emmys riding the blue. The gown was never silk. It was that blue.
