Barry Bostwick

Barry Bostwick plays Mayor Randall Winston on Spin City, the 1990s workplace farce that put Fox back in a New York pressure cooker spinning a mayor’s office like a war room. Staffers colliding, scandals mutating, comic timing as muscle memory. Winston is civic furniture that can still trip a scandal. Political farce with actual tempo. Later seasons hand the keys onward; Bostwick is why the office photographed as a government and played as a sitcom. The 1990s catalog parks Spin City here — ABC, 1996–2002 — and Mayor Randall Winston is the pulse inside the parking space, not a sticker on the still.

s01e01 is the handshake this desk still uses. Michael J. Fox back in a New York pressure cooker, comic timing as muscle memory, staffers already colliding. 1996–2002 is the window; Mayor Randall Winston is the person the hour has to keep answering to.

s02e01 carries the later voltage. Paul Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest: political farce with actual tempo, scandals mutating on a sitcom clock. The later listed weather is s04e01: Catcher in the Bronx: mid-run City Hall still a war room, Fox's last seasons as the original spin. Codes as place, not recap cards. Barry is who you can still hear after the titles.

The deputy is the engine; the mayor is the weather. On TV Flash he is 1990s ensemble craft — the elected grin who made City Hall feel like a joke with a motorcade. We keep him in the seating chart because the hour still has to be a person. Mayor Randall Winston is that person on ABC.
