Fred Berry

Fred Berry plays Freddie 'Rerun' Stubbs on What's Happening!!, the 1970s ABC hangout that put Raj, Dwayne, and Rerun at Rob's Place. Cooley High roots, a later sequel afterlife, dance breaks and soda-shop plotting. Berry's Rerun is movement as character — a man who photographs as comic burst and plays as the booth's pulse. Syndication love outlasted the original run by years; the dance is why.

Fred Berry treats What's Happening!!'s 1976–1979 run on ABC as a job site. Three Los Angeles teens navigate school, dances, and schemes under the watchful eyes of family and the neighborhood burger joint. Freddie 'Rerun' Stubbs is ensemble craft the catalog still uses when the high concept wants to float.

A clean Fred Berry path on What's Happening!! runs s01e01 to s02e01 to s02e15. The Runaway opens the soda-shop hangout. Raj, Dwayne, and Berry's Rerun already holding court at Rob's Place; Mama's basement rules apply. Cooley High roots, dance breaks loading; then Rerun Gets Married is the catchphrase body as a season open. Black teen hangout sitcom treating a ceremony as a gag and a milestone: syndication love still ahead; then Dee's First Date is the little-sister hour as hangout liturgy. Basement rules still the law: soda-shop plotting, dance breaks. File the codes as a job site for Freddie 'Rerun' Stubbs.

TV Flash keeps Stubbs in the jukebox file because a hangout still needs a body that can start the number. We file Berry as 1970s catalog craft: Rerun as the reason a soda shop still sounds like a series you can move to. The afterlife can wait; this is the original job.
