Jeff Perry

Jeff Perry plays Cyrus Beene on Scandal (ABC, 2012–2018), the 2010s Shondaland hour where Olivia Pope and her gladiators clean up D.C. disasters she half-created. White hats, soapy twists, live-tweet national sport; Kerry Washington at the center of network drama in a way primetime had not sustained for decades.

Cyrus is the gray-suit coup — fixer chic as a seven-season #TGIT religion. Perry sells the operator as a person, not a silhouette in a corridor.

Scandal is 2010s ABC furniture with a pulse. Jeff Perry’s Cyrus Beene worked Scandal like a gladiator in a gray suit — Olivia Pope’s D.C. disasters, white hats, soapy twists, live-tweet national sport. Shonda Rhimes putting Kerry Washington at the center of network drama. Around Cyrus Beene, the catalog wants stance more than a plot card.

Come in at s01e01 — Sweet Baby puts Olivia Pope and the white hat on ABC — Rhimes centering Kerry Washington as live-tweet national sport. s07e18 keeps the job from collapsing into a poster: Over a Cliff closes seven seasons of #TGIT fixer chic: the file actually going over, not quietly canceled on a Friday. s02e01 is the later stamp (White Hat's Off makes the brand the title: gladiators, soapy twists, the hat coming off as the season's promise).

On TV Flash he is the other gladiator. Watch the tweets as the form. We file Perry as 2010s network-drama steel: the Beene who made a fixer show photograph as a marriage to the state, still the reason Scandal has a chief who plots like a soap.
