Ricardo Montalbán

Ricardo Montalbán's Mr. Roarke occupies Fantasy Island as the host who treats desire like a contract. Spelling anthology, a white suit, Tattoo's plane-spotting cry — the hour looks like vacation and plays as a lesson with bite. Montalbán sells the welcome without sanding off the invoice. Smiles, everyone. Then the wish starts teaching.

Montalbán is already Mr. Roarke once Fantasy Island hits the ABC clock (1977–1984). s01e01 is how the catalog shakes hands: The pilot opens Spelling's mystical sibling to The Love Boat. Montalbán already grants wishes that teach; Villechaize spots the plane. White-suit morality, consequences included.

Guest stars cycled through morality; Roarke stayed the weather system. On TV Flash Montalbán is 1970s fantasy royalty: the man who made a tropical stage feel like a courtroom in linen, and who understood that a wish without consequences was just a commercial.

Ricardo Montalbán proves Mr. Roarke is not scenery at s01e06 — Family Reunion / Voodoo is the double-bill as occult-chic comfort. Guest-star lessons with teeth: smiles, everyone — the island still a wish factory that bills in irony. s04e01 keeps a sideways coordinate — The Devil and Mandy Breem / Instant Millionaire is Roarke adjacent to damnation and cash. Anthology as weekend hobby. Lead voltage. Fantasy Island is built so Mr. Roarke can occupy the frame; Ricardo Montalbán is why the week still has a face. TV Flash keeps him on the 1970s board because the hours still work.

Ricardo Montalbán stays Mr. Roarke on Fantasy Island — ABC, 1977–1984, 1970s catalog heat that still has a pulse. Watch s01e01 then s01e06 as stance, and keep s04e01 if the list has a third coordinate. The desk already told you the temperature; the hours prove it. Mr. Roarke is the job, and Ricardo Montalbán still does it without a recap reel.
