Fallout Made Game-Fan Gatekeeping Look Like a Side Quest
Prime Video dropped a wasteland comedy-drama, Walton Goggins stole the power armor discourse, and the “adaptations never work” crowd had to log off and actually watch.
So about the gatekeeping: it lasted until episode one finished loading. Fallout premiered on Prime Video in April 2024 as an eight-episode dump from Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy among the producers, Bethesda’s vaults and bottle caps as the toy box. Game-fan accounts were already mid-ratio about canon, tone, which game it “should” have been.
