How this season is filed

Filed by Tessa Quinn · Spoiler-Free (Mostly)

Moonbase Alpha gets blown out of Earth orbit, and Martin Landau plus Barbara Bain try to manage the colony in tailored space chic. Gerry Anderson's live-action swing after the puppets: British design, gloomy metaphysics, model-shop spectacle. International syndication sci-fi that wanted 2001 on a weekly budget.

TV Flash files Season 2 of Space: 1999 (1975–1977) on ITV / Syndicated as the last listed season of 2 — 24 listed hours, 1976-09-04–1977-11-12 from “The Metamorph” (S02E01) to “The Dorcons” (S02E24). Titles, dates, and synopses on file — no invented recaps.

Desk essentials in this season

  1. S02E01 The Metamorph

The Metamorph is the second-season reset named as a change. Year-two chic and new creature weather: the fandom still argues the pivot, the moon still nowhere near Earth.

  2. S02E24 The Dorcons

The Dorcons is the 1977 closer. Two seasons of Moonbase exile, then an alien-name bow: British design sci-fi that never needed American network swagger to look like a destination.
