How this season is filed

Filed by Lana Reyes · Red Carpet Reality

Bored analyst Eve and stylish assassin Villanelle: chase as courtship, fashion as threat display. Phoebe Waller-Bridge's season-one scripts from Luke Jennings made Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer a prestige export; Comer took the Emmy. Later seasons varied writers and heat. Spy TV that treats longing as tradecraft — season one is the purest hit of tone.
