How this season is filed

Filed by Vivian Cross · The Carpet Report

Playhouse 90 treated living rooms like Broadway with a stopwatch: ninety-minute teleplays, often live, from Serling's Requiem for a Heavyweight to a TV Judgment at Nuremberg. A 2026 viewer watches the gold standard of Golden Age drama — sponsor meddling, high-wire nights, and prestige Variety still ranked among television's greatest.

TV Flash files Season 3 of Playhouse 90 (1956–1960) on CBS as a mid listed season (3; 3 of 4) — 38 listed hours, 1958-09-25–1959-06-25 from “The Plot to Kill Stalin” (S03E01) to “The Second Happiest Day” (S03E38). Titles, dates, and synopses on file — no invented recaps.
