Felicity Huffman's Lynette Scavo is how Desperate Housewives keeps a job and a household in the same crime scene. Marc Cherry's ABC serial (2004–2012) launched four women on a lawn that looked like a press kit: Susan, Lynette, Bree, Gaby, a narrator already dead enough to know the bodies. Huffman plays competence under suburban lighting — kids as logistics, work as a second plot, the HOA as publicist. The desk still says the lawns are the red carpet.
