How this season is filed

Filed by Julian Hart · The Binge Brief

Dick Van Patten's newspaper columnist fathers eight Sacramento kids, then the series does what The Brady Bunch would not: grief, remarriage, and teenage mess without freeze-frame sweetness. Betty Buckley steps in as Abby; the brood sprawls like a soap that still wants to hug you every week.

  1. S01E01

Never Try Eating Nectarines Since Juice May Dispense

The story concerns the Bradford's efforts on behalf of their 15-year-old daughter Elizabeth (Connie Newton), jailed for possession of narcotics. It also concerns 21-year-old David Bradford (Mark Hamill), who decides to move out of the house after a series of arguments with his father.
