How this season is filed
Today invented waking up with television: Dave Garroway, a chimpanzee co-host, and the mix of news, weather, and chatter still fighting every weekday morning. A 2026 reader watches the original American morning-show contract — coffee, headlines, and the idea that a network should greet you before work.
TV Flash files Season 2002 of Today (1952–present) on NBC as a mid listed season (2002; 2 of 22) — 1 listed hour, 2002-04-17 opening on “Apr 17, 2002” (S2002E77). Broadcast log — titles and dates, not a plot bible.
